Kim Anderson started her journalism career in 2005 after working as a veterinary nurse for 24 years. She changed career paths after writing feature articles for several western breeds horse magazines.
Kim continues to combine her love of animals and journalism as a regular feature writer for the Western Horse Breeders Annual and Western Horse Online magazines.
After completing a Diploma of Freelance Journalism at the Australian College of Journalism, she took on a part-time role as media liaison officer at Sunshine Beach Sate High School, submitting weekly articles to five regional newspapers.
Kim joined the Coolum & North Shore Advertiser newspaper in 2006 as a journalist/photographer and has since worked as a freelance media writer for several government agencies while continuing to be involved in the Coolum community through her work at the Coolum Advertiser and active participation in many community events.
She has been commissioned as a photographer by the Hyatt Regency Coolum and is regularly involved in corporate events, such as the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter Charity Golf Day.
Originally from Victoria, Kim moved to the Sunshine Coast 30 years ago and has lived in Coolum for 17 years. She is a single mum of three teenagers and shares her life with a horse, a cat and three dogs.
Kim currently writes for www.viewnews.com.au - an online news outlet; and freelances as a journalist and photographer. She is also the paid (part time) administrator for Coolum Business and Tourism Association Inc.
